Page 12: Roads and paths were dirt during the time of the Revolution. This item would have been attached to the front porch for cleaning boots and shoes before entering to help keep the house clean.


Page 26:  This is Faneuil Hall built by Peter Faneuil in 1742.


Page 34: Wings carved into gravestones were known as “death’s head” used as a symbol in the 1700‘s introducing the idea of life after death.


Page 48: The first ant-slavery speech was given by William Lloyd Garrison on July 4, 1829.


Page 60: Thomas Jefferson was the primary author of The Declaration of Independence however John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Robert Livingston and Roger Sherman were part of the committee appointed to complete the document. The Declaration of Independence was signed by 56 men in total.
